Ketchikan Fishing Charter Questions

How much does a Ketchikan fishing charter cost? Our Ketchikan fishing charter rates for private salmon trips are competitively priced for the 2026 season. Rates typically range from $1,200 to $3,000 per vessel, depending on the length of your trip (4, 6, or 8 hours) and the size of your group. Choosing a private charter ensures you get the entire 27′ Sea Sport to yourself, providing the best value and a personalized experience you won’t find on “cattle boats.”

Are your Ketchikan fishing charters private? Absolutely. We specialize exclusively in private charters. When you book with Campbell’s Fishing Charters, you are reserving the entire boat, the 4 C’s, for just your family or group. This allows us to tailor the trip to your skill level—whether you are a seasoned angler or a family with young children—and ensures you have the captain’s undivided attention for the duration of the trip.

What fish do we target in Ketchikan? Ketchikan is known as the “Salmon Capital of the World,” and that is our primary focus. We target all five species of Pacific Salmon, including King (Chinook), Silver (Coho), Pink (Humpy), Chum, and Sockeye. Depending on the time of year and local regulations, we also see opportunities for hard-fighting Lingcod and various species of Rockfish. (Note: We offer catch-and-release only for Halibut).

Do we need an Alaska fishing license? Yes. The State of Alaska requires all anglers aged 16 and older to carry a valid sport fishing license. For the 2026 season, a 1-day nonresident license is $15. If we are targeting King Salmon, a King Salmon Stamp is an additional $15. These can be purchased online at the ADF&G website or at most local tackle shops in Ketchikan before we depart the dock.

How many people can go on the boat? The 4 C’s is a spacious 27-foot Sea Sport, and our Ketchikan fishing charter rates are structured for private groups of up to six guests. Our vessel features a heated cabin and a private marine head (restroom), making it the perfect choice for groups who want a professional, comfortable environment while out on the water.

What gear and equipment is provided? We provide everything you need to land your trophy catch. This includes top-tier rods and reels, all fresh bait, and specialized lures. Captain Cable has over 40 years of experience rigging gear specifically for Ketchikan’s unique tides and currents. After the trip, we also provide professional fish cleaning and bagging at no extra charge, so your catch is ready to be processed or taken home.
