A Look Back at the 2025 Ketchikan Alaska Fishing Season
The 2025 Ketchikan Alaska fishing season was a testament to why this area is the salmon capital of the world. Throughout the summer, we saw consistent action across the inside passage, with plenty of King and Coho salmon making their way through our local waters. Our guests enjoyed the calm, protected seas that Ketchikan is famous for, allowing for comfortable trips even when the weather turned a bit “Alaskan.”
Beyond the salmon, the 2025 Ketchikan Alaska fishing season provided excellent opportunities for Pacific Halibut and various rockfish species. As a 5th-generation local guide, I take great pride in sharing these highlights because they represent the hard work and passion we put into every charter. Whether it was a 4-hour cruise ship excursion or a full-day adventure on the 4 C’s, the memories made on the water are what keep us going. What Made the 2025 Ketchikan Alaska Fishing Season Special?
Every year in Southeast Alaska is different, but the 2025 Ketchikan Alaska fishing season stood out for the quality of the Silver Salmon runs in late July and August. We spent a lot of time navigating the unique currents around the Clover Pass area and the local islands, finding those pockets where the fish like to stack up.
For our cruise ship guests, the 2025 Ketchikan Alaska fishing highlights often included seeing the local wildlife—humpback whales, bald eagles, and even the occasional bear on the shoreline—all while reeling in a hard-fighting Alaska salmon.
